As Hirsch celebrates our 90th anniversary, we’re giving you a sneak peek behind the scenes to some of our incredible team members. Leading off is Roger Stauffer, our Southern Divisional Manager who has been with Hirsch for 25 years.

How did you get started at Hirsch?

My journey with Hirsch started in 1998 at our Hollywood location.  My wife and I just had our first child and I just left a competitor. I accepted a job with Hirsch because I knew they are a good company.  I wanted to be with a company where I could be a part of a team and grow my professional career.  After four years, I became the branch manager of our Hollywood location and now 25 years later, I’m Southern Divisional Manager.

What has inspired you the most during your 25 years at Hirsch?

The relationships that I've created with employees and customers. I have so many longtime relationships. Those longtime relationships really keep me doing my best every day and I to continue to work on growing those relationships.

I also get to go on a lot of customer trips and reconnect with customers that I used to work with at the Hollywood branch in the 90’s.  We still laugh, have a good time, and talk about all the memories we have made over the years.

What is a recent project you have worked on that will help our customers?

One thing that I am most proud of are the stores I helped open in San Diego. Several years ago, I relocated my family from LA to San Diego.  I lead the team to open our second store in San Diego, La Mesa. I was also on the team to open our third and fourth San Diego locations in Kearney Mesa and Chula Vista. We went from only having one store in San Diego County (San Marcos) and now we have four amazing locations in San Diego.  This expanded our service area in the San Diego region, which has really benefited our customers.

Wait……I have another project that I want to speak about that benefits our customers.

A project that I am proud of is working with our water heater team to implement water heater rebates for our customers.  These rebates benefit our customers because not only can they get a good price on a water heater at Hirsch, but they can take advantage of the additional rebates that saves them even more money.

What makes Hirsch special compared to other plumbing distributors?

That’s simple… THE PEOPLE. The relationships we make at Hirsch turn into family. We all work hard to make sure that we provide the best service and that leads to the strong relationships we make. We have each other's back and we want to do whatever it takes to make sure our customers are taken care of.

What is your Favorite Hobby?

Collecting sports card and memorabilia.

Are you a morning or night person?

In this industry, you have got to be a morning person. My alarm is set up at 4:30 or 5:00 o'clock every morning.

What is the last movie you saw?

Well, this is going to shock you, I don't watch movies. I love watching TV shows, mainly sports; basketball, baseball, football. I watch it all.

Who is your favorite sports team?

Raider Nation Baby!

Do you have a prediction for next season?

We are probably going to do the about same next year as we did this year but we are getting better! Every year there is hope!

Toilet paper flap over the top. That the only way in my book
