Maribel brings the fun!

How did you get started at Hirsch?

I began my journey at Hirsch as an intern, the summer I graduated from college. Once that internship was over, I got a job elsewhere and HATED it. Dony Hy, Human Resources Manager, offered me a position in our Organizational Development department doing recruiting. I worked there for a while until I received an opportunity to work with Bill Glockner, our President and CEO, as his Executive Assistant. I spent nine crazy years in that role and eventually transitioned to the marketing department, where I currently manage our promotions and events.

What has inspired you most during your 19 years at Hirsch?

Bill Glockner has been a tremendous source of inspiration for me during my 19-year journey at Hirsch. I'm continually inspired by his unique approach to business and his ability to generate wild and creative ideas. Bill has taught me the importance of thinking outside the box and striving for nothing less than excellence.

What is a recent project you have worked on that will help our customers?

Dipping my toes into HVAC. It took me 19 years to understand plumbing. So, I expect these next few years to be interesting. Hoping to create similar relationships and experiences with these new customers and vendors.

What makes Hirsch special compared to other plumbing distributors?

It’s the people. I genuinely cherish the interactions I have with both our customers and my fellow Hirsch employees. Over the years, I've developed strong, meaningful relationships. I don’t even consider customers, customers. 100% they are my homies, my girlfriends, my people. “Let’s just say, I get invited to a bunch of carne asadas” lol.

I consider the branch managers, my brothers. They drive me bananas, but I love them. Working in such a tight-knit and supportive environment has been and a special part of my journey at Hirsch.
