Job Summary

The Corporate Purchasing Agent/Buyer is responsible for entering into negotiation with suppliers, review job quotes, resolving issues, analyze reports, manage inventory, researching and adding new product lines, and building relationships.

 

The Purchasing Agent is a key position in the effort to balance the company’s inventory supply with customer demand.  You will act as central coordinator in the supply chain, being responsible for inventory and fill rates.

 

This individual will work closely with other members of purchasing and inventory control team in order to maximize inventory levels and ROI.  Besides solving day to day Inventory issues, the main objective of this role is to further structure and optimize the supply chain planning by analyzing, evaluating, and detecting improvement potential.

Hirsch is currently seeking energetic, goal oriented, quality individuals

Job Requirements

  • Five years related work experience in purchasing, inventory, or distribution.
  • Work related experience in the wholesale industry or construction trade.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing products and supplies.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a well-organized approach to database management.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Project, Word, PPT, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using a computerized MRP or ERP system.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
