Job Summary – Customer Service Rep

Join the National Sales team! This is a fast-paced job that is responsible for customer service activities that include selling; building business relationships with customers; determining customer needs; and providing accurate product, pricing, inventory and delivery information.



ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the National Sales Manager
  • Interacts with other NST sales team members
  • This position has no direct reports

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, the position is responsible for the following:

  • Determining the customer's needs and matching them to products offered by Hirsch.
  • Accessing inventory information and processing sales through the company's computer system.
  • Processing special orders.
  • Providing customers with accurate and timely information regarding product availability, pricing and delivery.
  • Driving sales activity through participation in outbound telephone sales programs.
  • Maintaining a high level of product knowledge through reading and attending product knowledge meetings.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of accessories and related products so that appropriate add-on suggestions can be made to the customers.
  • Reviewing daily/weekly/monthly reports (open orders, open P.O.'s)
  • Answering incoming sales phone calls.
  • Handling overflow calls.
  • Visiting customers and prospects at their place of business from time to time.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug Test
  • Must pass a pre-employment Background Check
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Physical
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years sales experience in B2B plumbing supply, industrial supply or contractor supply.
  • Experience using a computerized point of sale or ERP system.
  • Experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and build relationships with customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and averages.
